It's been ages since I've heard that little fashion 'rule'. In fact, the last time I ever heard it was once when some uppity older woman at church 'called me on it' (years ago in Minnesota) when I 'dared' to wear a FAB snow white wool suit at Christmas time. With white heels. (Ugh, even FrumpMama knows better now).
Here in the desert they don't hold to such things. But then, folks here wear their PJ's to the laundromat and the grocery store, too, so they aren't exactly fashion plates, lol.
